Sayorn Chin joined the Economics faculty in the Fall of 2023. He teaches Intermediate Microeconomics, Economic Development, and Health Economics.
He also holds the position of data science fellow affiliate at Mountain Data Group. His research interests lie in applied microeconomics, particularly at the intersection of health, labor, demographics, and aging. His academic work has been published in popular journals such as Demography, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, The Journal of the Economics of Ageing, and Journal of Substance Use, among others. As an applied microeconomist, he answers policy-relevant questions using modern tools of causal inference techniques from applied statistics and econometrics.
He completed his Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Colorado State University and earned his B.A. in Mathematical Economics from Colorado College. He also graduated from the United World College of South East Asia, an independent international school in Singapore, and is a member of the United World College movement which includes 18 schools worldwide.
