Hongxing Liu joined the Economics faculty in the fall of 2017. She teaches Intermediate Microeconomics, Environmental and Resource Economics, and Cost-benefit Analysis.

Professor Liu’s research interests are in the field of environmental and resource economics, with particular interests in the feedback between economic behavior and ecosystem services. She uses non-market valuation methods, integrated assessment models, and field experiments to explore the tradeoff between economic decisions and environmental quality. Her work has been published in journals including Land Economics, Global Environmental Change, Ecological Economics.
